My Case for the BNC: Neighborhood Community

Why should you give to the Bryant Neighborhood Center? This series of posts explores why the people intimately connected with the Bryant Neighborhood Center and the Here for Good Capital Campaign have invested so much of their time and talent for its future success.

Miyon Kautz has volunteered as Capital Campaign Co-Chair for several years. She remains committed to this work because she believes in the potential of the Bryant Neighborhood Center.

The neighborhood. We all have one. For many of us, we’ve lived in a variety of neighborhoods, with all kinds of neighbors, some we know, many we don’t know. I’ve always said I like living in my neighborhood because everyone cuts their own grass and we all hang out on the street talking and sharing life.

Creating a new Bryant Neighborhood Center where people can gather, learn, share stories, experience life, eat meals and have fun, has the potential to change lives and families in the community. And, I love potential.

I’ve been volunteering my time with the Here for Good Campaign as we seek to raise $2.5 million to create a space where neighbors can come together and where our church can roll out the welcome mat. Because I believe that providing a caring and open space to weave a community together is important.

We care about people and we love our neighbors and with so many opportunities to come alongside the men, women, parents, and children who live here, I am committed to this mission to serve so that together, we all become the best neighbors we can be.

I’m hoping others will see this vision too and join with us to create a neighborhood full of potential, in a great part of Tacoma, with the greatest neighbors anyone could ask for.

Join us in the Here for Good Campaign and make a gift to see potential become a reality.
