Play to Learn at the BNC!

In 2017, Trinity asked our neighbors, “What does the Bryant Neighborhood need?” Most frequently, the answer was: “free activities for youth and families, and a physical space to hold them.”

Already, months away from opening, we have begun to create partnerships to do just that! When the Bryant Neighborhood Center opens, we will be the 26th site for Play to Learn, with the Children’s Museum of Tacoma!

Play to Learn is a free program for parents, grandparents, neighbors, family and friends who nurture children ages six and under. Thematic curriculum invites individual play, fun group activities, songs, and a whole group circle time for children and adults to enjoy together.

Alyssa Tongue, Learning Experiences Director shares:

“The Children's Museum of Tacoma is proud to partner with the Bryant Neighborhood Center to provide a weekly Play to Learn class, free for families of young children in the community to attend.  The Museum's philosophy champions play as a natural and enjoyable way for caregivers to nurture their child's learning and supports whole child development in preparing them for life's opportunities.  It's exciting to watch the physical transformation of the Bryant Neighborhood Center and to recognize that it will have space to support citizens of all ages.“

Excited to participate? We are too! Play to Learn classes take a break during the summer, but return to all site locations in the fall. If you just can’t wait, kids of all ages are always invited to visit Children’s Museum and experience the Power of Play. With Pay What You Will Admission, everyone is welcome to contribute what makes sense to them, while taking advantage of the incredible opportunities the Museum has to offer.

We look forward to sharing our space with partners like the Children’s Museum and more to bring fun and free programming to our neighborhood!
